Australia / Germany I have recently joined EuroAfricaCentral as a volunteer, subscriber and active member. My reasons for doing so, over and above the usual motivations associated with volunteering, were simply due to being thoroughly impressed by the focus and direction of the organisation. I am most excited to be somewhat affiliated with an organisation that aims to shift the Western perceptions of African cultures and people by way of the medium which is both the source and potential alleviator of so much intercultural confusion.

United Kingdom People must experience the positive Africa: Our home isn’t just about war. Our people are not just warlords, dictators and white bigots. Africa isn’t just about AIDS and famine. Africa has had many horrible leaders, both white and black, but now people must see what Africa is really turning out to be. Africans, including Afro-Europeans, should never be ashamed of their roots. I am happy to be a member of EAC. I am an Afro-European myself with an African father and British mother. Also, many of my friends are Afro-Europeans, some black, some white, some Indian. One thing draws us together…me and my friends together despite our diverse cultural backgrounds, that one thing is that we ´re Africans. An African to me isn’t about racial characteristics, it’s about being born in Africa, or living a culture lived by any one of the millions of groups of people who see Africa as their home, be this Zulu, Bambura, Lingala, Afrikaans, Sesotho, Shona, or Arabs
